Jenny Alexis Ryan (born 2 April, 1982) has been a Chaser on the British version of The Chase since 2015. Ryan wrote questions for the pilot episode of The Chase in 2009. She was recommended for the show by fellow chaser, Anne Hegerty, who had competed on the same quiz team as her. Ryan's nickname on the show is The Vixen, in reference to her red hair, freckles and ponytail.
Ryan has also made appearances on other quiz shows, including: University Challenge (reaching the semi-finals with the University of Leeds), Fifteen to One, The Weakest Link, Mastermind (with Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her specialist subject), Are You an Egghead? (in 2008 and 2009), and Only Connect (winning the third series).
Together with Lucy Porter, Ryan hosts Fingers on Buzzers, a podcast about quizzes and quizzing.
In an episode aired on 5 September 2019, Ryan went through the whole show without getting a question wrong - the first time that this had happened on the UK version of the show (although an episode where Anne completed the feat aired first, it has been confirmed that this was recorded after). Ryan again completed an episode-long clean sweep in the show that aired on 10 February 2020, making her so far the only UK Chaser to have done this more than once.
Jenny currently has the second-best win rate of the British chasers, and it is noteworthy that this strong showing is in spite of the fact that she has faced the highest average target of the chasers for the last two series.
